◆Part Quality Concern: Concern over part quality issue with some high levels of spring back due to high tensile steel material, which will cause poor accuracy of matching surface areas.

Background:

Both of these parts are stamp in 3000T transfer tools with four stages process, which are DRAW, TRIM, BEND-RESTRIKE AND CAM PIERCE-CAM TRIM. As we known that the high strength and toughness of high strength steel plate make it difficult to form. On the one hand, it has higher requirements for forming equipment and tool material. On the other hand, the dimensional accuracy of blank after forming is low, which is mainly shown in large spring back. we are at present stage the spring back compensation is obtained by CAE simulation, production and adding amount of compensation when die modification, increase the stiffener on products at the same time to control the spring back, follow-up in the mold try out stage, through adjust die to analysis and compensate the lack of actual spring back amount value. By using these methods, we can greatly improve the spring back of high strength steel plate.

Conclusion:  

Spring back for automotive stamping parts are difficult to solve the problem, due to this while process layout, our designer will run forming simulation to check the potential risk of spring back, then optimize process by changing part shape for improving these issues, also we will reverse back to calculate spring back for process as well as make compensation in advance, which can ensure the part quality.
